Do Good Followers Make Good Leaders ?
There is often talk about great leaders, but I have often thought when hearing this talk
Who are their followers?
In this questionable thought of, why are they following this individual’s leadership? 9 times out of 10 it’s because that leader understands his followers position and is able to transfer his/her vision, and this must come from his/her experience of being a good follower at some point on their own journey.
There are certain qualities that a good follower has that automatically puts them on the journey to great leadership, and here are a few.
Respecting the role of their leader, their colleagues, and themselves.
Being trustworthy to fulfill the given task.
To have a positive mindset towards their work.
Honest with moral principles.
This person can read the road ahead, knowing what to suggest to help their leader to progress.
To be a good team player is an essential part of a good follower, which takes good communication skills.
Not of a pretentious nature.
Criticize in private, praise in public.
The above are just a few of the qualities of a good follower, just observe the journey of some good leaders and look for some the above.
All the Success!
